How to Make Ice Cream

Sorry peeps for the long missing in action! Finals this year are coming real soon and I am totally not ready! :(

So anyways back to today's post, how to make ice cream!
Credits to Qing Xian who taught my housemates and me.
I saw Qing Xian doing it with her housemates and I was like OMG so cool!!! I didn't know we can homemake ice cream. I always thought they had machineries to produce ice cream.
I am so brilliant right! LOL.

SOOO! Its actually really easy. Like. Really. We made Oreo Ice Cream.
and this is my first attempt! s don't judge :P

First, the ingredients.

2 cups of Whipped cream (I used the normal one, but you can try to get the one specifically for ice cream)
2 cups of Milk
2 teaspons of Vanilla Essence
1/2 cup of Sugar (white or brown as you prefer)
2 packs of Oreo, or more. (You can replace this with fruits if you want to make fruit ice cream, like banana ice cream :D)

How to make:

So basically you just measure and prepare the amount of ingredients you need.
As for the Oreo, we started off crushing them into pieces, but not too crushed because we wanted the chunky feeling of oreo.

After that, we just add all the ingredients inside the blender. Milk, cream, sugar and vanilla essence.
Blend all of that think its fluffy enough.
Then add oreo. Then just mix it with a chopstick or a spoon or whatever.
Pour it into a container and..
Put it in the freezer and wait 24 hours and YOU CAN ENJOY!

Pour the milk..

LOL Qing Xian crushing oreo with my cup hahah. Yeap that's the way we crush oreos :P

Sugar! Oh by the way the measuring cups you can get it anywhere. I saw it in Daiso. This set is Xin Yi's not mine so I am not sure where she got it :)

So the whipped cream will use the same cup as the milk. Will only fill it after pouring the milk in the blender :)

Pour in the milk!!

Next the sugar!

whipped creammmmmmm.. so creammyyy

after all the white in colour stuff added :P (milk cream and sugar)

add the vanilla essence.

Need to press on top cause this is old blender and it had a hold on top at the cover.
So just to prevent things from flying out during the blending process :)

OREO time WHHHEEE! everyone wanted to eat the oreo in the process of this -.-

Mix them..

What it looks like after mixing.

Pour them in the container!

Basically you are done by here, time to freeze. But ours looked wrong so...

*extra stuff we did..

So after mixing the oreo, we poured it out and it looked not right.
It wasn't blend enough, so we had no choice but to blend it longer some more.
But this will break all the oreo to fine pieces, so we crushed more oreo to add inside.
the end result? Our ice cream was really really oreo!

It tasted good and not bad for the first attempt.
Just a little too sweet because of the amount of oreo we put in.
We used in total of 4 packs! LOL.

CRUSHED more oreos! So that we get the chunky ones :D

Pour Pour Pour!

Now it looks right :D

This is how the end result look like! Not bad right for first timer! :D
and sorry ahahahah we got too excited that we scooped and tried the ice cream before taking picture LOL.

*there were a lot of epic things that happen that day, so....*

Qing Xian said she had chocolate as base for her ice cream. We didn't know about it, so we didn't buy chocolate.
Pei Nee was saying that she had a lot of extra chocolate. Could just melt any one of them
So she gave us one and we were thinking we were kind of lazy so we use the microwave.

Sorry blur picture! Not taken by me, but I have to show a picture of the chocolate we used!
Its by cadbury by the way.

In it goes!

But the results weren't really good, it didn't really melt. So we in the end decided to use the stove.
and then........of all days, we were out of gas on that day LOL.

Melted a little but not really..

wanted to use stove but no gas!!

So nevermind,  we try the double boil method by putting it inside the rice cooker in a bowl sort of thing.
It was so slow that we thought it wasn't melting.
and to our horror, we found out that the chocolate was expire HAHAHA!

double boil LOL.

and then found out its expired.....what more is in MAY, now its already September!!

So we changed to a new chocolate, using the microwave again.
We stopped it halfway and it looked okay but not melted enough so we continued heating it.
When I went to check on the chocolate, the microwave window (you know microwaves have this glass thing so that you can see the bowl moving around inside the microwave) was all fogged up! and I smell burnt.

OMG HERSHEY.. and cookies and cream. Matched the ice cream theme of the day :P

Melted a little but not enough..continue heating.

and the GREAT smoke from the microwave. This picture was taken when it had already subsided a little. When I opened it it was worse and much much more thicker!
Imagine that! hahah!!

When I opened it was as though my chocolate was on fire LOL!! There was so much smoke coming out that my whole house stinks!
So we gave up on the whole chocolate thing in the end hahaha.

I know what you all are thinking.
Such a waste of hershey's right...I know :'(

So yes, thats the making of the oreo ice cream.
Give it a try! Its really easy! Would attempt for other flavours next time.
Sorry for the blur pics cause I had a friend to take for me while the others and me did all the making :D

Just a random shot taken while waiting for the chocolate to melt.
One of the few people that came to my house (plus my housemates) to make this ice cream :D
The other guys came in hope to EAT the ice cream LOL.

Oh no my nerdy face is out!

Meeples European Board Games

Monopoly, Game of Life and Cluedo wasn't satisfying enough for us really. Me and my brothers were finding different type of board games that challenges us. Although the big fugger always gets around the game and hence winning it he's the only person we wanna win sometimes. Also spit on his face and literally do the 'in-your-face' scream :/

We went to Singapore the other day even after being tired we still ran around the departmental store to find board games. It was so limited and nothing new. Its always the boring ones from uno-mini,uno stacko, uno attack, uno card shitsss.

We then went to Meeples European Board Games located at SS15. There you can be a member with paying Rm60 and they would give you Rm50 vouchers. With the member you can play for Rm3.50 for an hour instead of Rm5! Also 10% off their board games if you ever thought of purchasing. It can be an option for Christmas Gift now ;D not bad eyyy?

Simple and nothing to shout about. Ikea Klobo Sofas

Fun shelf!

It wasn't bad because when we went there my younger brother randomly choose a game. Its call Pandemic. The thing about this is, I DONT HAVE TO READ THE MANUAL! Yay lol! The game coordinator there will take about 5-10minutes to explain clearly on how you are going to play the game. So quickly we can start our game and turns out Pandemic was a cooperative game. Lol.

We played for two rounds of Pandemic because we thought we did not win. Turns out when another game coordinator came over and clear our pieces he said actually both rounds we also had won, just that we didn't know. HOR, so the guy didn't explain clearly lahhh! :/

Stop the virus from an outbreak! Super cool, though should tweak abit to make it interesting ;D

Joyce then said she wanted something that doesn't require much brain lolol! The guy there know their game, really. He introduce us a game call Panic Tower. Similarly to Uno-Stacko. This didn't have a winner, just we a loser after getting 3 penalties. Which joyce lost -___-!!

We had an hour before we had to close, since the place closes at 1. So I asked him if he has some game that will have a winner and the game duration is about 30-45minutes. He recommended 'Ticket for Ride'

The whole game was really fun that made Joyce really wanted to get one home. And why the game coordinator is good because we use 35minutes to finish the game with him explaining and everything lah. So he picked a good game for us to enjoy really ;)

Panic Tower

Ticket to ride. Collecting points to be the winner.

This whole Meeples team would undergo two months training and would have to know every game there is and the instruction! Yay for them lols! This really means I don't have to read the manual book.

Even if you are not looking for a game you can always chill there because I saw a lot college students with their fancy MacBook sitting there doing work and they do serve food and drinks. With your member it is applicable for the things on the menu also.

Meeples also serve alcohol - drinking game maybe? Hahaha. My brother applied as member so I only had to pay Rm5 for playing 3 hours at Meeple. Even if i were to go alone it will be Rm10 for two hours. Thats equivalent to going for movie. Unless you go Mid Valley for movies -___- its Rm13-Rm15!! Movies are getting so expensive and you have to watch sucky movie at times e.g Vikingdom. Stupid.

Mocha, my brothers ordered the nutella; so sweet ;/

I don't think you have to worry about going alone also, maybe you can join other groups and meet new people? I remember there was once me and Chloe was at Coffee Sociètè and ask if we can join the next table as they were playing a breaking ice game. Which made our night less boring really. So not having enough pax isn't really a matter :)

They have another branch at Kota Damansara which have slightly more games also according to them.
Meeples European Board Games is same row as Mcdonalds (next to INTI) and its facing the highway.

Music For Study

I was listening to a few songs that I commonly listen to when I am studying and I suddenly thought that I should share some of the songs here. Honestly I am required to study everyday, but obviously I don't. Sometimes I study better without music, but most of the time I do.

However sometimes listening to music when I study distracts me. It takes at least 20% of my concentration away either to the song/lyrics or what not.
Sometimes I do get so distracted that I had to read what I am reading a few times before I understand because my concentration is so much on the music.

So tip: Preferably songs without vocals/singing just instrumental would be good. It takes away less of your concentration and gives a good relaxing environment to study.
Sometimes studying in the quiet is quite boring (at least for me)

If any of you like classicals (I DO!) they are good too, but not the too dramatic ones.

So here are a few songs you can try out, most of them are introduced to me by Chloe.
The title of the songs are on the video embedded here :)

The last video just the vocal version of the second last video. Usually I just listen to the instrumental one but I think the vocals are good so just share here also :)

I will share more of some songs I listen to which I think is quite good (if you have the same taste as me that is) in the near future!
So keep checking! :)

Little Talks : Birthday at Penang

Chloe : Ru who you going Penang with?
Me : Secret.
Chloe : =______= stuupid you are not in Penang right on 29th right?
Me : I am I am, even if I'm not I will be.
Chloe : Then go fuck yourself

The art on the wall. Thats how the exterior looks as well.

Since I was going alone I looked for a dorm. It wasn't what I thought of really! I thought its dirty and military dorm and all. Turns out when I reach there it was really clean and the interior was really nice as well. Its clean enough to stay really because I really couldn't stand staying in a rusty, old and dirty hotel or anywhere for that matter.

I have a little thing for cleanliness even my room or car can be messy sometimes. Though no matter what, my throne has to be pee-free from the seatee! =/
If any of you are planning a budget trip to Penang, Ryokan @ Muntri is much recommended !

I find it so nice that their door are with p/w locks and also combining Penang elements into it.

Raw and chic is all about Penang.

I don't see anyone hanging out here, although I wish someone did.

Their 'lobby' for chilling

There's an iPad there as well, I really don't see any groups hanging around out here ;(

The Dorm. Really clean! They provide lockers but you would have to bring your own padlocks.

The breakfast is free ;) So wouldn't expect anything.

So I spent two nights there sharing a mixed dorm at the rate of Rm33 per night. Not too bad but it was a mixed dorm where I had a girl room mate and a guy .. I was scare at first really though the guy was the girl's friend. And the girl was really nice where she morning call me ;/ haha. Still.. I was abit uneasy at first about the guy. You can opt for a girl's only dorm, there will be a few ringgits higher.

Ryokan is located at Jalan Muntri, I wouldn't say its close to everything but if you are driving its all fine and if you are walking like me... lols its still fine where everything is about 15-20mins walk from the hostel. One block down is the 'Love Lane' where more backpackers are and at cheaper rate even! I should have booked there but the place was packed with foreigners. The real backpackers also! I did not book there because at first I thought 'Love lane' was .. some.. chow-kit-prostitute-alley-sort of place. lolol. Turns out it is quite happening!

Its a decent place to stay at Ryokan really! The Penang-lang also told me the area where I'm staying is call 银行街(Banking Street) oh.and Chloe didn't fuck me ;D hehehe. and I did had a memorable birthday :)
